Tara Ings

This month we are spotlighting one of our most upbeat and hard-working ryders, Tara! Tara has been ryding with us since 2017. I still remember the day she came in for her first class. She said she had moved from Boston and loved spinning, but hadn't found the right studio for her. I was so hoping Power Ryde would become her place. ...It's almost 5 years later and Tara is still working out with us numerous times a week!!

Tara is one of those ryders who you love to gab with before and after class and also love to have in your class. She works hard, she "woo's", and you can tell she just loves a good challenge. She also gives the best compliments after class and it makes teaching so much more fun and rewarding!

Keep reading below to learn more about why Tara rydes with us week after week, as well as some cool facts about herself...like running the Great Wall of China Half Marathon!!

Do you remember your first ryde and how you felt after? What has kept you coming back for more week after week?

Yes - We had just moved to Milford and I was looking for the whole package deal. I had always loved spinning classes, but never rode a bike that moved side-to-side. I was super sore - in a good way - because the first ride challenged my whole body (core, upper and lower body strength). It was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I loved it!

I keep coming back to Power Ryde because the classes are motivating, challenging, and the atmosphere is the best (professional, polished, clean, and the people there are my friends...some have become great friends and I always look forward to riding with them at each class). Power Ryde has become my therapy during the pandemic. Life is challenging right now for everyone and I love how I feel (mentally and physically) after an amazing workout!

Do you have a favorite moment that you remember at Power Ryde?

One of my favorite moments was when Power Ryde allowed me to hold a fundraiser for the LLS foundation. I had my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and husband in the class. It was fun and they could not believe how challenging the class was.

I also love when classes are sold out! The energy in the room is unbelievable and it seems like the classes just fly by!

What is your favorite music to ryde to?

I love all music. Most know I perk up on the bike when I hear Bon Jovi, Darius Rucker, old rap, or Backstreet Boys. I also love a little Juice World and Wiz Khalifa.

Tell us a fun fact about your yourself.

I lived in China for 2 years (11 years ago) and ran the Great Wall of China half marathon (didn’t run the whole thing because a lot of it is climbing and stairs); it was life changing!

When you are not Power Ryding, what can we find you doing?

I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love watching my two boys do what they love: Trevor playing football and Carter playing football, basketball, and baseball. I spend a lot of time watching Purdue sports...football and basketball...Boiler Up!!! I also enjoy traveling and going to concerts!
