A Memorable Memorial Day Meal fruit flag

When I plan a meal for a get-together, I usually like to serve a protein, at least two sides (something green and something starchy), a salad, and a dessert...and since it is Summer-time (!), I also like to serve a fruit salad! I know, it is a lot of food but hey that means lots of yummy leftovers (which ultimately means less cooking for you throughout the rest of the week)!

Also, I like to serve two different proteins because not everyone likes red meat (or hamburgers) and people get sick of chicken and lets be honest, I love to eat. Oh, and a LOT of people hate fish, so please, never serve just fish for a dinner unless you know all of your guests eat it!

Below are some of my favorite recipes! Pick and choose...and ENJOY!

Protein

Casablanca Burger (these are SO GOOD!)

Man-Pleasing Chicken (can be made on the grill!)

Grilled Garlic Dijon Herb Salmon

Turkey Burger with Grilled Peaches (second one down; I make this recipe weekly. Turkey Burgers have never tasted SO GOOD!)

Non-Starchy Sides

Asparagus with Balsamic Glazed Cherry Tomatoes

Roasted Cumin-Lime Carrots

Starchy/Carby Sides

Summer Vegetable Pasta Salad

Grilled Red Potato Salad (third one down)

Orzo with Roasted Vegetables

Salads

Fruit and Spinach Salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette

Brain Power Salad (if using this as a side-dish, I would omit the salmon)

Summer Veggie Slaw (this is not your average cole slaw; WAY healthier!)

Dessert

Grain-Free Blueberry Tart

Key Lime Tarts

Strawberry Banana Pie

*Or feel free to make your own delicious, delectable treat!
